Based on the professional website of Raider Publishing, its very good references and the professional and honest sounding information and promises of its head, Adam Salviani, I signed a Gold Contract for my book “Technical Development of Firearms, 1200 - 1900" on December 16th, 2011.
The German version of this book has already ben published and successfully ben sold in Europe since 2008. The English translation, the graphic layout and the proofreading has already ben done by professionals in Europe and Canada. The manuscript was ready for printing in a suitable pdf-format. All that had to be done was adding the Name of the Publisher, the printing and the world wide Marketing as promissed by Adam Salviani, head of Raider.

Before the signing of the contract, Adam Salviani had all the information on this book including a section of the pdf-manuscript. Adam promised, the publishing can be done without problems latest within one year. End of December 2012, I payed Raider Publishing the required fee of US$ 2799.-. In January 2012 I sent Raider a CD including the printable pdf-manuscript and a copy of the German Book. Again I got the information, that the publishing can be done according to the contract.

Based on this good experience I sent Adam Salviani detailed in formation and a pdf section of the manuscript of my second book to be published “The History of Firearms, 1200 to 1900". Adam Salviani again promised, that the publication can be done within one year. Based on this, I signed an other Gold Contract for my second book and payed a reduced fee of US$ 2000.-
After receipt of the payment I was informed by Adam, that Kaitlin Flaherty will now be responsible for the publishing of both books.

The responsible person at Raider has changed since than four times. The last responsible person was the “staff” of Raider.

In December 2012, I was informed by an “Elisabeth” that the publishing of both books will take place at the end of January 2012. After a couple of e-mails from my side, including complaints, that I still have not received a preprint for approval, I received in March 2013 from the “Staff” of Raider the information, that they have problems with the layout. In June the “Staff” informed me, that the problem will be discussed with Adam Salviani. This was the latest I heard from Raider, even after my complaints, that Raider is violating both contracts. This may result in legal steps from my side. No reaction from Raider.
On June 2013 my lawyer in Switzerland sent a customer complaint including a cancellation of the contracts and a claim to refund 75% or US$ 3600.- of the payed fees by the end of September 2013.
Again no reaction from Raider Publishing International or its owner Adam Salviani.

But Raider still makes advertisement with a professional website and goes on to scam other serious but gullible authors. It is about time to take legal steps against this company and its owner.
