I was contacted by a law firm, RMA Legal Network Leonard Frasquillo, after I filled out information concerning a loan modification. They said they are here to help because my lender is so busy with other loans that they hire them to assist. It was such a relief after going back and forth with my lender that I jumped on it. This has been the most difficult and stress time of my life. They talked so much about my lender and the documents I had just sent to my lender, I really didn’t think anything different. I faxed requested information to them and they called back to tell me I had a modification and the amount to be paid for the next 3 months before finalization. They asked for my bank routing number and checking account number. I assumed they are legitiment. They said they had verbal contact with wells Fargo and that they needed the documents from me to start the process. They are paid by the 947.00, I deposit for three months. They assure me they can get a modification and that there would be an inspector/rep come check the home before the modification to check the value vs. what is owed. They also said that by making each of these payments, it would show my lender I can afford my payments and it would show a payment history. At the end of these three payments I would start my new/lowered (modified) payments.
I was told not to talk to my lender anymore; they would do that for me. Last week, I received a summons hand delivered; this is fore closure notice and the courts requesting a response in writing. I contacted RMA. They requested I send them the packet, so they can contact the courts and they will take care of the written response. I received a second set of the summons. I contacted RMA again. OH, they are majorly concerned now. Now it’s been almost two weeks and no one from RMA will contact me until today. Today, I got a voicemail from RMA saying they could not represent me. I contacted my lender, they cannot contact me because of some form that was completed stating I did not want them to contact me (RMA prolly took care of that). So, now…I’m losing my home and have no modification and no legal representation.
