I called and scheduled an appointment with the company named above and they informed that I needed to bring with me my 8hr, 16hr certificates, s.s.n, birth certificate, i.d as well as $80.00 on hand just in case they decide to hire me on the spot. The person told me to sign in for Ms. Campbell and someone sent me a text message that night for a "interview confirmation". The next morning I went to 240 W37th st. btw 7th & 8th ave signed in for Ms. Campbell. As I waited to be interviewed no one by the name of Ms. Campbell had appeared and instead a man named "Mr. Norman" had called for me and he was instead doing the interview. I told him that all I needed to do was get my license renewed and retake my 8hr annual. I showed him all the documents that was asked of me to bring, he made copies of everything and asked if I had the money. He told me that I would be processed in the system and asked if I could work 40- 50hrs and they would start my pay at $15p/hr. He hands me a cash receipt for my $80.00 and says that is to cover for the first aid and 8hr annual. After he gives me the receipt he pulls out an "Enrollment Agreement" and tells me this is what I need to bring with me so I can take the courses needed to get my first aid and 8hr annual. He tells me to wirte my information down in the required blanks and sign my name where the "x" is marked. After I gave the agreement to Mr. Norman, he then asks me what type of income I have, I answered I didnt have any type of income and therefore he stated, "Do you think you can come up with $279.00?" I told him no I dont think I can and his response was "well you're from Brooklyn so you can find a way." There was a female sitting directly across from him named Ms. Washington and I guess she was the one in charge of writing out the receipts but she asks Mr. Norman if he included the registration fee which altogether made a balance of $319.00. He wrote it down on the enrollment paper that I had wrote my information on and signed and told me that I needed to give in the $319 before I can start doing the security job. I was left confused because I was so eager to get a job that I never asked any questions for what the $319 was actually for if the $80 was used to cover the first aid and 8hr. On my way home, I read the enrollment paper and I realized that $319 was suppose to be paid for a first aid and 8hr course. When I called the company, no one answered the phone or any number that they had given to me to call. I had never taken any course so I was calling them to give me a refund on my money and still I havent received anything.
