Hi there
I subscribed to "Mature free and single" a dating site - on the 10 sept 2011.
I purposely only intended to subscribe for the "30 day option" - to see how it went.
After selecting the "30 day option" =£29.99, I procedded to log in my debit card details. then clicked - agreed.
The "very next thing" that came up on the screen,was "you have successfully subscribed for 6 months @ ££90!!!!
There was no "pre check of the order to confirm" - whatsoever!!!!!!
I emailed them straight away and phoned them the very next day.
The girl at customer services told me that it always reverts to its default of "6 months" after payment is made - and that I should have checked it first.The fact is that it definately did not do that or give ne the option whatsoever!!!!.Also they said because I had "used the service that evening - they could not refund and it wasn't their policy to do so!!!.I argued veermently but with no success.I contacted my bank - and although they said they'd look into it - they wrote back saying "get in touch with the company" - that was as much use as a chocolate fireguard!!!!
I have subsequently been told by a few (3) other users on this site that they too were stung in exactly the same way (and thats only the ones i have talked to. about it.I did post the fact on a diary in the site and am waiting for more replies - however the site is vey clever and blocks a lot of this communication
I feel they are playing on peoples emotions and the fact that subscribers on these sites don't want to make a fuss as they're embarressed about even being here - well I am not and I don't want them to get away with it time and time again
