..as a result of web search for assistance on bad credit situation, I was contacted by a Simone Moore who told me (within an hour) that I qualified for a $10,000.00 loan. The payments would be $181.66 /month for 5 years. A collapsable payment of $544.98 was due first, to guarantee the loan. This would represent 3 months payments and they would throw in an extra month free.
..next contact was with a Patrick Freeman, who was taking over for Simone and that we were required to pay another 3 months payments again to guarantee the loan. So I waited checking my account daily to "watch" this money drop in at any time.
A couple more requests in order to release the funds to our account....$283.40. for a "Barter Tax". (This is when my suspicions started).....then another $326.80 for a transfer fee.....and the final straw a request today for $302. for an administration fee
This process started on July 15/13 and continued until today....
Today I challenged Patrick on how this could be possible and that I have no more money to give them, as I stated..."Why do you think I am requesting this loan....I have no more money to give!"
I requested from him a reference number and he told me that it was in the contract they sent me, which strangely enough cannot be found. So I went to the website of Goldstein Mutual Financial and what do you know, it was disabled. It was not disabled just 2 hours before.
So all told I am out $1843.15....into the pocket of very efficient and professional scam artists.
For future reference for those of you in the states:
"According to the Federal Trade Commission, it’s illegal for companies doing business by phone in the U.S. to promise you a loan and ask you to pay for it before they deliver."
...and do your research, send no money, as a "down payment"
I am now facing eviction from my home, possible job loss, as I now have no vehicle, and a split of my family.
