Since New York community bank took over Amtrust, I have had nothing but issues! Three times they have cancelled my visa debit card stating a nationwide security breach by visa, but can never offer any useful info as to what this actually means. No one else that I know has had this happen. The last time (a few months ago) my card was declined as I tried to check out at a store. They cancelled my card without notifying me, because of a " visa security breach". The rep was one of the rudest people I've ever spoken to, and then I had to wait 2 weeks for a new card or pay $65 to get it sooner. Just got another letter today, claiming another " visa security breach, and that they will be canceling my card in two weeks, another card will be mailed in the meantime. Really? Why wait 2 weeks this time? Called my local branch, which the letter said to do, no one had any idea what I was talking about. A few months back I lost my card, it was the weekend so I called the 800# to cancel. Was told to call my branch on Monday to request new card, and was then told I had to come into branch to request. By the time I got to bank to request, which was about 5 days later, was told my card had never been cancelled! I will be changing to another bank that I can actually trust, nycb is a complete joke
