I applied to a job as an office assistant on 7/22/2013 via craigslist and received an email from Peter Smith on Saturday 7/27/2013 stating that i had been selected by the HR Department and that my information had been forwarded to Mr. Kevin Davidson (hiring manager) and that he would interview me for the position on Monday 07/29/2013 at 9AM my time. I was instructed to add [email protected] on the messenger for the interview/briefing exercise. I was online at 9 on the dot and the infamous Mr. Davidson never showed up, i waited for an hour and signed off. At 10:30 i was contacted via text by Mr. Davidson from the number 571-229-7815 stating the same thing all over again that i had an interview with him at 9am and that he was waiting for me. So i obliged and signed on and thought that the interview would be conducted via webcam but it was strictly through messenger, it was getting fishier and fishier by the moment. He then went ahead "briefed" me on the position that was suppose to be for First Solar (an actual legit company) he told me that i would be trained for two weeks and that i would be visited by two employees to process my paperwork and W2 after the training was done (fishy fishy) The position was to work from home, he then asked me two scenario questions and congratulated me on getting selected. He asked me the same question about two times so i could clearly tell he/she wasn't really reading anything so i told him that i had already answered his question and he stated "sorry i just got it now" He then asked me if i preferred to get paid weekly or bi-weekly and to give my full name, address, phone number and bank i used by this time i had had enough and i knew where this was going so i asked him if he had a number at First Solar where i could reach him at and he stated that this was strictly an online job due to the unemployment rate but that he needed my info so that his secretary could add me to the company registrar, OK.... He doesn't have a phone number but he can afford a secretary. I ended all form of communication and haven't heard from them since. This is a serious offense and these people are putting in jeopardy the reputation of a real company such as First Solar.

  • I received the same thing from a CareerBuilder posting. The online interview over yahoo itself was weird but then Kevin asked strange questions like "age, sex, location" and "what bank do you use?" I called the company and he is not listed in their employee database. I asked him to send me an offer letter, like any legit company would do and he wouldn't. Not only is he trashing the name of that company, but I believe if you we're to follow through it would end up with your bank account being hacked. Please be wary if you hear from them!
