This complaint is virtually identical to the one described elsewhere on this website by "Jeremy" complaint # 230257 Debbie Mann and Robert Payne Complaint 230257. I was also contacted by an individual calling herself/himself "Mrs. Debbie Mann" presumably living in Paris about giving music lessons to her son "Chris" who would be visiting the United States in the near future. She/he/it contacted me from the e-mail address [email protected] I was sent a check for the cost of the lessons in advance plus a fair amount of "extra" money for the "caretaker," Robert Payne, who was presumably in Alabama on vacation. His e-mail address that he communicated from (obviously in cooperation with "Mrs. Mann" or perhaps is the same person) [email protected]. Then, after I sent the money to Robert Payne through Moneygram, my bank informed me that the original check was no good and I was out the money. The bogus check appeared to be from a company that really exits, North State Supply, Inc, of Buffalo, NY, drawn on an HSBC bank. This was what made me think it was real. It was signed by a Melissa Cowell who, whomever she is, sent the check in en envelope from Birmingham, AL with a return address of 451 Palisades Blvd., Birmingham, AL, 35209. Don't fall for this one, I wish I had been a little more careful, and checked this website. If I had just typed "Mrs. Debbie Mann" into a search engine, I would not be here making this post.
