first some facts. person answering the phone that says his name is JD or Jay is Jeff Davis, owner.
shipping: englewood,co and office 1970 La Bellezza Grv,Colorado Springs, CO 80919. Phone # 719 593 1240. JAM is doing business as finally free tv,digital tv express, just about saving money, INHOME and digital cable today.
The BBB in Denver rates a company A+ to F and based upon 16 factors this company is a F. go to the BBB and read details. the BBB opened a file for this company 12/01/09. Jeff knows how the BBB works.There are 107 posted complaints and with each complaint, by email they ask for a rebuttal. 105 went unanswered, including a letter asking to change FINALLY FREE TV to another name. The BBB indicated their charter does not allow them to take sides and must remain neutral and WILL NOT VISIT A BUSINESS OR ALLOW A BUSINESS TO VISIT THEM.
In total there are over 170 posted complaints.i.e. USA Consumer Complaints web site JAM is in the hall of SHAME with 12 complaints,ripoff report.com/r has 26 complaints All the scam and ripoff sites state: Box not working,will not answer emails or phone calls and after a box has been returned(with tracking number)NO REFUND. In three cases the money was taken and nothing was shipped.
In my case i received a box and per instructions i called my cable company. They informed that the box is "junk" and prior to selling, all the cards are remove that allow the box to accept signal. Typically the box is sold for $5 to $10 each. The person asked me to plug the box into an electrical outlet. NO POWER TO THE BOX. Returned the box with tracking number. NO response to 6 emails NO response to 4 phone messages and NO refund. Went to our banks legal dept and they took care of this mess. I was lucky. And for all those that have not been so fortunate I suggest the following: a very detailed report to the Attorney General in Denver(state of colorado.org go the AG to get email address)make sure you copy the Dept of Justice consumer fraud division and the BBB in Denver.
