Company called and left a voicemail on my phone from a number listed as "0000000000".

The message stated exactly the following:
"This is my 2nd attempt to get this summons out to you. If you fail to respond this can turn into a missed court appearance due to your failure to respond. I am going to make a final attempt to serve the summons today. So I need you to make yourself available. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the filing party at: (855) 393-3793."

So I called them back at 4pm. They have a secretary that answers the phone. Transferred me to this guy. This guy had all my information. Spoke really fast. And said I had until 5pm today to pay a settlement or they would file for a judgement for an old credit card from near 10 years ago. He specifically said, "you remember how that other judgement went against you", and named the company that took out the judgement for a different account a few years ago.

I tried asking him information about the account. He gave me very little information. Raised his voice and told me I needed to pay or I would be taken to court and will end up paying thousands more than I actually owe. I tried to ask him the date of the account and he raised he made threats and hung up the phone.

I called the guy back a half hour later. He said "oh you hung up on me." He gave me the first digits & last digits of account number. I told him I needed to run home and check my records to see if this was a past bill of mine that had been payed. This guy told me good luck because he was submitting to the credit bureaus and there was no way to stop it after 5.

Rushed home, didn't find it. Called him back & made a payment over the phone. He then sent me a form to sign. I faxed back to him. They sent back the settlement agreement which does not have anybody actual signature on it.

I ended up calling my bank and cancelling payment after reading these posts & seeing they were rated an F on the BBB. This company had never contacted me before today. Nore did they Send anything to my home. This company just all the sudden called and made it sound like they had done so and I had limited time to respond...
