We were told that RCI had a buyer for our timeshare. We were to pay $2500.00, which we did and we would receive the purchase price of $25,000.00 for the sale of the timeshare. We still have the document indicating that we would get our money back within 60 days from 2/16/2011 if the property sale did not finalize. To this date 7/3/2011 we have not be able to recover any of our money. We have reported this to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs in the state of Florida. We also reported this to the Orange County Police and a detective. We would very much like to recover our $2500.00. We have the various documents to prove dates, etc.

If you paid via a Credit Card/Debit Card, you can file a dispute through the bank that issued your card. At first, they will not want to pursue, but you have to keep pushing. I was able to recover my money that I paid to a similar company even though a year had already gone by before I filed the dispute.
The bank will need a detailed write up (including copies of the contract) highlighting what was said, what contact you have had with the company involved and how you have tried to resolve it, etc and an explanation of how you have been defrauded. If you have info from the Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs of FL about the company, or the Attorney General's office, etc - include that. The more details you give the bank about the fraud the more chance you will have of them recovering the money through the banking network.
