Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is to confirm our discussion yesterday and earlier today. I am writing to inform you that your agency/company violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a federal law, in your dealings with me.
The incident(s) were as follows: on July 10, 2013 at approximately 12:09pm, 12:23pm; 12:54pm, and 4:43pm. I was called (4) times on the patient appointment telephone line in which I serves as the patient care coordinator. On the first call, I thoroughly explained that it is against my company policies to receive personal calls on this line. I gave Ms. Audrea Dazy my personal cell number and asked her to call me on my lunch break or after work at 5:00pm. I received no calls during lunch or after 5:00pm. On July 11, 2013, at approximately 11:20am, Ms. Dazy resumed the harassment calls on the patient phone line. Again, I explicitly requested that she do not call me on the patient appointment line and utilize my cell number. In addition, I remind her that I had not received any official correspondence from her agency.
I strongly feel her trying to pressure me into an agreement of terms to repay my student loan at a rate in which I clearly stated that I could not do. Again, this call was the first correspondence of any sort from your agency. It is very troubling and mentally disturbing to receive a threatening call from your agency concerning garnishing my wages. Your tactics could result in my loss of employment and cause further financial hardships.
I am requesting that you take steps to change your practices. I am also forwarding a copy of this letter to the Federal Trade Commission, the State Attorney General, and the Better Business Bureau for Metro Atlanta.
