Due to job loss and hospital bills I needed to resort to a debt consolidation company, including my personal loan with OneMain Financial. Lawyers were involved and an agreement was reached out of court. On the 15th of each month I am to make a set payment to the above location. On June 13, 2013 (Thursday) I took my payment to the office but had to use the payment slot in their door because of the time. Today I received my bill stating I did not pay until June 17th (Monday) so they gave me an $86.32 late fee, on top of stating I now must pay over $2000.00 by July 15, 2013 because I "defaulted" on the legal agreement! Called the office but they are already gone for the day (just after 4 PM); called the 1-800 number and was told they could not help me. Sent an email to their main headquarters but I expect little help from them as well. I am now waiting for my lawyer to look into this but want to alert unsuspecting people in financial strain to watch their backs concerning OneMain.
