I ordered Adrian Morrison's book- Social Media Profits after watching an infomercial one late night/early morning. I wish now I never called. This guy is such a scammer. When I called to place my order for the book it was supposed to be only $19.95 plus S&H but the automated system tried to get me to buy a million different things before I got to what I called for in the first place, just the book, nothing else and the price is now different than the original offer? I just kept declining every offer they were trying to add on to my order! If I had agreed to every offer it would have been about $150 instead of 19.95! Right after my order was finally complete I got a call back from the order center saying that I was charged the wrong amount and I will now be charged the correct price of $39.95! I said "why is it THAT amount and not the advertised price of $19.95"? The very heavily accented foreign man named Jhimba said, oh only first 50 callers get that price! I said, well forget it then, cancel my order and do not charge my card for anything, Especially after the order experience I just had I've changed my mind. He actually hung up on me! I should've known this was a scam then~ I tried to call back the number he called from which came up on my caller ID as 630-200-3435, but of course the number doesn't work. I had assumed that Jhimba had cancelled my order but a few days later the books arrived, despite my verbally requested cancellation. I emailed the "support desk" immediately(there is no number to call with a problem, only an email) to dispute the order that I had cancelled via telephone with Jhimba on the same day of my placing the order. No response for over a week. When they finally did reply they had NO record of my cancellation or of any employee named Jhimba, of course. It is even more frustrating dealing with morons via email!
I told them in my reply email that I was sending back the books today and I wanted my money back immediately. They said I would get a refund within 30 days of return. I still have yet to get a refund. I sent the books back registered mail for proof of my return. No one has responded to my numerous emails yet. But wait, it's not over yet. There is even more frustration for me to come..
Three weeks later, I see a charge on my bank statement for $49.95 from a LEARNINGCENTRKEARNSOH445345?? I had no idea what this was. I called my bank and disputed this charge as I did not recognize this merchant or the charged amount and there was no phone number or address listed for me to call. Sovereign Bank refunded my money* but only temporarily. I received a letter from my bank on 5/7/13 saying "As result of our investigation we have determined that the merchant is correct! Therefore we are denying your claim!! If a credit has already been applied to your account for this claim we will debit this amount on from your account on the 5th business day of this letter." I was blindsided. What?? Are they Serious?I still can't believe my bank would be returning the $49.95 to VIP Social Media Learning Center ripoff!! I was very angry! My bank explained to me what the merchant told them~ that when the books came there was a certificate inside for Adian Morrison's VIP Social Media Center 30 day trial, and I was supposed to call to cancel before the 30 days were over or there would be a recurring monthly charge of $49.95. I told Sovereign that I had cancelled my whole order and returned the books, and I never even saw the certificate and I certainly didn't know about this learning center website, but apparently it doesn't matter because I didn't cancel the membership! That is what the merchant told my bank. I was found at fault for not cancelling a membership I didn't even know I had. One would think that cancelling my entire order would override any necessity for me to cancel anything related to the order itself..hmmm Nope, not according to Sovereign bank and smllearningcenter.com anyways. I am still in the process of disputing this with my bank now..but do yourself a favor and RUN FROM THIS GUY. He's a thief... Don't buy anything from him.
