What's interesting about this is that I haven't actually lost any of this money. They are claiming I owe it to them. Someone stole a debit card from me about a year ago, or a little over, and opened an account with this company using that card. I deactivated the card and had the charge reversed. Apparently, Smart Shoppers Savings Club thinks it is a normal business practice to accrue a debt without actually charging me for anything. They were charging the account in vain it seems, and are saying I owe them the money they could not debit from me. There's nothing legal about what they are asking me to do (pay them 704 dollars). The provided email address and phone number in their email to me are both broken.
I've never used their services and never wanted to. Someone do something. I will simply call and threaten them and then file a lawsuit otherwise.
Update: 06/16/2013
Oh, and as the evidence screenshot shows, they are also offering to settle for half the amount, which makes it seem obvious to me they are just trying to milk some money out of me for something they know I don't want and never used.
