We had the triple play bundle with centurylink. A year ago I called them to figure out a way to get our bill lowered as it was getting close to $200 a month. That is when I switched from dish network to direct tv because centurylink had switched and they guarenteed that they [direct tv] could make my bill alot lower. When I was all done setting up our direct tv, the guy I was talking to who was with direct tv put a price lock on my account. He said this ment that none of the prices could change for three years and that my bill for the bundle would be $158.00 a month for the next three years.Of course this made me very happy, untill I found out that it was all lies. I haveyet to see a bill for 158. July 2012 my bill was 190. Aug.it was 154. Sept it was 212. Oct. it was 193. Nov. it was 193. Dec. it was 210. Jan. it was 206. Feb it was 208. March it was 207. April it was 208. May 207. I have called them just about every month to complain and all I get is the run around. I've down graded our direct tv and still the bill gets bigger. Finally this month I told centurylink that I no longer want to bundle. I down graded our phone. And called direct tv to cancel. Thats when I was told that if I canceled I would be going against my contract with them and would be charged a 260.00 cancelation fee. That if I didn't pay it they would take it directly out of my bank account after 20 days. I told them they violated the contract first by not honoring the 158.00 price lock. They just ignored that and still insisted that they could and would take 260 out of our bank account if I canceled. So as much as I hated to do it I down graded again got our bill down to 69 a month or so they said. I guess we'll see when I get the next bill. And I'm stuck with TV that I hate and never watch.
