I received a letter from Goldman, Evans, & Trammel, bill collectors in which they claim that I owe their client, Covad Communications $340.52 + fees of $80.00 = $420.52. About 2 years ago I stopped using Covad because I was switchig to Comcast fulltime. I called Covad, got a woman on the line, told her I wanted to stop Covad. She said I could not stop Covad by a telephone call and I would have to stop it by computer program. I hung up the phone and followed her instructions for closing Covad, which went through and was confirmed. Now this Goldman, Evans & Trammel LLC have been hired to collect from me for what appears to be a 20 or 24 month charge which I did not incurr. I think they should not resort to a shot-gun approach but look at Covad's records to see that I did close my account with them, and there has not been any hits to my Covad Account since I closed it. I am not liable for these charges and I resent being accused of them. I have written a letter to Goldman, Evans & Trammel explaining this to them. how can sich things get so screwed up, or is this truly shot-gunning to see what they can hit, and get?
