I was having issues with my pc being slow. When I went the internet, I found the company advangate and called them because after downloading their so called free scan, they convinced me by showing me how many errors and critical warnings I had on the most important software on my pc. All the Microsoft software was viral they said. I was told my existing protection wasn't good enough to detect this and convinced me to buy the 2 yr silver support plan. Supposedly a tech cleaned up my pc but I didn't really see much difference in the speed. I had this plan for about a week when someone from the company called and said that I was being hacked from someplace international and that I needed to act quickly or my hardware was in danger. I think ( I can't remember the womans name) told me to press ctrl and r so a tech could have control of my pc to show me where the errors and warnings were. Now he went on about how my hardware was in danger and that I should buy more software to protect from hackers because they can get in through the back door of the existing protection I had purchased a week ago. Software he said programmed by Microsoft, but when I looked at the product he showed me I saw no indication that Microsoft put out this product. Then I got suspicious and hung up on the guy. He still had control of my computer and was clicking around on different programming so I unplugged the phone line. I went to shut down the computer and nothing worked. Couldn't put in safe mode because the keyboard would't work. Right away I cancelled my credit card and told them not to pay advagate.I was able to get my pc fixed. It was loaded with viruses. I think the fellow that had control hacked my pc to convince me to buy false software. I just didn't trust them that's way I cancelled the plan. Even though this company gives you a 30 day guarantee they are fighting the disputed charge.
