On 5/17 unable to access my yahoo account through ATT U-Verse; googled search for yahho email problems and found a "US-based" telephone number that went directly to India. I asked why the phone was not being answered in Indiana as indicated and was told it was forwarded to India.
Told my home system was not secure and that hackers from Africa and Europe had obtained access to my server and thus my computer. That AT & T could not fix this nor could Yahoo, but they would for either $149 or $250. They set about to do so. When I was able to retrieve my emais I saw five messages from AT & T alerting me to the fact that my access had been hacked and that I needed to change my password. I reached the AT & T technician and it was resolved with 10 minutes at zero cost to me.
So...i definitely feel that I have been taken advantage of and I will contest the charges when they show up in my credit card bill.
