The EDD/VO gave me information regarding continuing my education/training in the VRAP Program, my interest was in substance abuse and behavioral counselors, InterCoast colleges offered this educational study on line which was perfect for me, however when I enrolled the admissions director said I’d have to take alcohol and drug counseling which as he explained it was required before taking the substance abuse and behavioral counselors curriculum.
To make a long story short I’ve just recently found out that the MHRT program is not the substance abuse and behavioral counselors curriculum which is how the admissions director explained it to me during my interview and in fact it is a curriculum that is more geared for psychologist and psychiatrists and not the title I’d wanted to pursue, and is not the same nor close to the title of substance abuse and behavioral counselor’s program which is the title listed on their web site as it is listed on the DOL high demand employment opportunity.
I’ve tried to explain this most difficult situation to you in hopes that I’d have an opportunity to pursue my goal as a substance abuse counselor; in face I just received a call with hopes of gainful employment in my desired educational experience. If I get the position it seems I’ll have to make my first check payable to the VRAP program for withdrawal from InterCoast Colleges due to the misrepresentation of the admissions director who I learned is no longer the admissions director. Please help me and others who may have become victim of fraud.
