On the 18 of January this year, I came across a Japanese automotive dealer website www.japancarsandtrucks.com that happened to deal in the Export business of used vehicles. The contact person who I had liaised with is called Mr. Okamura Tomio; holding the Sales Director post for the mentioned company. Contact details for Mr. Okamura Tomio are as given hereunder:

Payment for the invoice was remitted on the 29th of January from my Bank A/c and Mr. Okamura had confirmed the payment received at his end. Mr. Okamura had agreed and confirmed that the vehicle will be shipped on the 15st of February and the Original Documents will be sent via DHL on the 21th of February while copy documents of the same will be emailed to me to start the import process. To my surprise, Mr. Okamura stopped replying to my emails since 20 of February and from 22ndth of February he started ignoring my calls and switched off his handset and office landline completely later that day afternoon. On the 24 of February, Mr. Okamura deleted all the units of his stock from his website and is not reachable by any means.

rdIt is clear to me that Mr. Okamura and the company that he works for (Japan Cars and Trucks Co., Ltd) have deceived me and perhaps many other more Tanzanians who believe in a faithful business relationship between Japan and Tanzania. I have jeopardized my name in the society we live in as I had also advertised his company and some of other units in his stock where by a friend of mine, Mr. Pankaj Lathigra purchased one unit Toyota Prado under invoice No. 0847 dated 23th January, 2013 worth USD 13,700.00 whose remittance was affected on 30 January, 2013. I had advertised the vehicle online with Mr. Okamura’s given approval and plans for Investing in our
country and opening a branch in Dar es Salaam.
Such misleading episodes not only affect Customer Trust between the two countries but also shame the Japanese Government and Japan as a country, henceforth I have decided to lodge my complaint at your kind office hoping that you will liaise with your counterpart in Japan, trace down Mr. Okamura Tomio and Japan Cars and Trucks Co., Ltd and give us justice for such a criminal offense.
