On the 28th of March I attended a first aid course run by a company called 'Uniqcare Ltd'after I applied for a nannying position that was advertised on gumtree. I was asked over the phone by a woman named Seema [email protected] that The family had concidored me and that I had to pay a £30 deposit that I payed over the phone by debit card. I was then given an emailed receipt. Upon arriving at the location at the allocated time I was not impressed at all. It was so badly organized I was beginning to wonder there and then if it was real.

An hour later after people were arriving late having been given different times we were asked to pay the rest of the money. The amount I was told was £99 and I payed the remaining sum in cash and was given a written receipt. After talking to some of the other people there it came about that Some were asked to pay £99.99. One girl that arrived late told us that she had already done a first aid course elsewhere but when having applied for the gumtree advert was told she had to complete this course and pay a further £99.

The lesson itself was appalling. They ran through a separate company and the woman that was giving our lesson was rather slow to explain. We had no booklets or child size dummys to practice on other than a baby one. We were not given any booklets and I feel there was a lot left out. I could have read a book and learnt what I payed £100 to learn. When the course Came to an end we were told to wait to get a paper certificate from Uniqcare that they were printing now and that our official ones would be sent to us in 2 weeks time. We all waited almost 2 hours for them to print some pieces of paper that counted as our 'certificates' because the person that would normally sort them 'was away'. Thus I missed the first 2 hours of work as it was 6.30 and we were told it would end at 4.30.

Since then I have phoned them to say that my real certificate is not here to which they have made excuses upon excuses.

Absolutely disgusted by this awful and poorly run company!!!
