Robby Shafer runs a facebook page called "youre probably from Schenectady if you remember....
On this page he sells T-shirts with different logos and a part of the proceeds (supposedly) go to the local Humane Society in Schenectady. I attempted to order a shirt through the link he provided on the website to no avail, so I decided to call him and provide him with my credit car info so he could place the order through paypal which he did and then he messaged me to assure me the info I provided had been shredded after he set up the account.
I assumed it was secure until a few days later I notice unauthorized charges made on my credit card. I called the people who processed the charges and was informed that they were pay per calls stemming from the area code of the last person I gave my cc info to to make a purchase who happened to be Robby Shafer.
(The processing company did call me back and verified the calls originated from Robert Shafers land line.)
When I called Robby to address the situation he told me he had left my cc info next to his computer while he and his wife went shopping and that his son was home with a couple of his freinds and that would be the only logical explanation as to how my cc info could have been used to make these purchases.
I told him if that were the case I didn't want to make a big deal of it just to talk to his son and his sons freinds, get their parents involved and to make restitution which he agreed to do.He told me he had talked to all of them and that he was going to send me the money for the unauthorized charges by last Friday.
Well I still haven't recieved the check or the shirt I originally ordered not to mention the phone number the unauthorized calls were made from has since been disconnected and he will not return any calls on his cell phone.
I tried to settle this as amicably as possible but he leaves me no other choice than to prosecute to the full extent of the law.
