I found an ad on craigslist for an iPad 3, 64gb, wifi + 4g for $250. After some emails (below) I was told "she" had a website out of Toronto where she lived who would ship it to me. This website sounded like a really cool idea and the website looked very legitimate. What an elaborate scam this is to have such a great looking and functioning website. I was sent a very detailed, real looking invoice that said to wire the money through Western Union, and I would receive it a few days later. Well it's now a couple days past my "guaranteed delivery" date and I still don't have it, and I'm learning I never will. IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT MOST LIKELY IS.
The email:
Hi, I am getting back to you regarding the iPad3 with 64GB and 4G Cellular from Craigslist
My name is Diane and I am now in Toronto.
Please take a look at the pictures attached to this email.
The iPad 3 is brand new, it works with any GSM carrier and comes with warranty.
I tried to be as thorough as I could with the presentation so you can have all the info if you decide to go ahead and buy it.
Let me know.
Thanks,
Diane
