I applied for an online payday loan, and was matched with a company called The VIP Loan Store. I noticed a withdrawal from my checking account and called the phone number attached (86-761-1124)

The person I spoke with, Nick, said that his company worked for several PDL companies and that this charge was for a "loan application fee".

I informed him that I DID NOT accept the Pay Day Loan from VIP and that I wanted an immediate refund

He said it would take 3 to 7 business days. I told him that I acknowledged our call was being recorded and stated "I did NOT authorize this loan application fee. Your company Fund Assurance Web has taken it from me without my consent and without my knowledge. Your company has committed THEFT and used a wire funds transfer to do so. This is illegal and I will be contacting my bank to let them know your company has committed theft"

He told me it would be refunded, and gave me a refund confirmation number.

I called The VIP Loan Store and per their customer service, they acknowledged
1) I had cancelled the loan I requested and thus owed them nothing
2) That VIP Loan Store did NOT charge any kind of loan application fees and
3) that this company was a scam

I contacted my bank and contested the charge and told them that this company was a SCAM

I hope this helps someone else out there to prevent having this happen to them
