Received an email on 4/26/13 & 4/30/13 that the diploma that was obtained at Nation High School needs to be "legalized."

When I called to find out more information about it, they couldn't provide me an explanation as to why a diploma would "expire" and it needs to be legalized. They kept on saying the same thing over and over that the government keeps a list and our diploma won't be on it if we don't pay $600. Then when we sounded unsure, they offered a discounted price of $300 if we payed before the end of April. But if we paid now, it would be $240.

I've never heard of a diploma "expiring" and if this one did, they sure didn't tell us before we got it.

Unfortunate that this school is doing this. I initially didn't have a bad view of them. Does anyone know anything about this or experience this?

Here's what the letter says:

This is to inform you that according to a change in policy the government maintains a list of approved diploma, degree and certification holders.

The Board Office has issued a letter and according to the records your High School Diploma must be legalized in order for you to be a part of the Government's approved list. You are one of our top performing graduates hence we are assisting you throughout the legalization process.

Why do you need to legalize your diploma?

Each year the government updates the List of Recognized diploma, degree and certifications.

ü100% Increase in your chances to be hired by Top Employer- Employers shall now accept updated Documents Only!
üUniversities shall now accept updated documents as per policy for further education.
üOnce updated, your hard earned diploma shall be recognized and accepted nationwide!

IMPORTANT: During recession your position is vulnerable in case your documents are not certified compared to an individual with attested/notarized documents who can easily replace you on job.

How to ensure you are part of the Government's list of approved diploma, degree and certification holders?

Click here to have your Diploma Legalized – Your profile will automatically be sent to the Government's approved list!

We encourage you to have your diploma legalized immediately since the Education Board shall sit to update the final list of renewed certifications within the next 4 Days – until the month ends.

To facilitate you in this regard, our credentials verification officer is available to chat live right now! You may also call us at 1-888-727-8505.

  • My husband got this same email from Winford High School where he got his High School Diploma. He took the Test, Passed to earn his diploma and it cost us 200.00+ dollars then to get his Diploma and this was last year. And now they want 550.00 or 200.00 seeings he's already Graduated, in order for him to Legalize his diploma. Something doesn't sound right there. They told me the Government passed some kind of Rule this year effecting the years 2010-2012. Well if it was passed this year, wouldn't it only effect classes starting in 2013-2014? it wouldn't effect any taken before this new policy or whatever was passed? because anytime they changed things in the public schools it never effected those that got anything before the date it was changed. Something doesn't sound right about this at all to me.

  • Hello, I talked to a representative at Nation High School and I asked them about this legalized diploma thing. The man asked me if i was a graduate with them after I asked the question. I said "no, my friend is." He said "whats her name." I said "why do i have to give you my name for you to answer my question?" He said "this policy was for graduates who graduated over a year ago" I said I don't believe you and I believe you guys are scams and what you do is illegal." He said "Are you an attorney or something? Think before you speak." I said "no, i am not an attorney lol. Good day sir." and I exited the chat because I got the proof I needed. I don't trust them and I wouldn't recommend them to any one. I advise you to tell your friends/family not to go through them for a high school diploma or any other program. Just thought I'd let you know.
