I was looking for a private or hard money lender to fund some real estate deals I have. James Keyes emailed me about it, and included a very brief application. A week later or so, he emailed me saying I was approved, but I needed to pay someone he is associated with for some type of insurance. He claimed this loan was approved by a company called Loan Market Association LL in the UK.
It all sounded a little too easy, so I emailed Loan Market Association LLC to ask them if James Keyes worked for them or if they had any information on this Loan that James Keyes said they were giving me, and they replied back with this email:
Dear Chris,
Please be advised that the Loan Market Association is a trade association whose members are commercial and investment banks, institutional investors, law firms, service providers and rating agencies. It does not offer or provide loans or loan management services to any individuals or institutions. There are no loan numbers we can check.
In addition, I can confirm that Mr. James Keyes does not currently work, or have ever worked, for the Loan Market Association.
