We bought a brand new GE refrigerator on Nov. 11th 2012. After about 3 months, we noticed the food in the freezer had excessive iceing. We called GE and they sent a repairman, who said there was too much moisture, maybe due to air getting in , but he couldn't see where. He said to adjust the temperature control dial and clean the freezer out completely & dry everything . Within a day, all the food iced up again. Called a second time. Another repairman came and adjusted the freezer door. Again, we cleaned out and dryed all the food. The next day, same thing, excessive ice. Called a third time. Waited for the repairman to come, but called 2 hours after our appointment. I had to leave to go back to work. Called a fourth time. The repairman showed up and this time used silicone to seal around the freezer door & the outside back of the refrigerator. Did the cleaning and drying process again, only to find out, it did not work once again. By this time, I had no choice but to throw out all of the food we had in the freezer as it was all "freezer burnt". My fifth and last service call was last week and the repairman came, but he didn't do anything this time, again stating excessive moisture. GE keeps telling me this is a fixable problem, but I am tired of them GUESSING how to fix this problem and am tired of having to shop every day for food because I cannot use the freezer. GE says I can choose another refrigerator at a discounted price, but I would have to pay another 500.00. This is insane, as it is only five months old and I am still paying off this one, which I also paid extra for an extended warranty. I should not have to buy another refrigerator. They obviously cannot fix the problem and I think this has gone on long enough(almost 6 weeks). I also contacted PC Richards (where we purchased the refrigerator) and they are trying to help us resolve this issue.
