I was directed to softwarepros after clicking on a website link by the name of LIMEWIRE.The link took me to SOFTWAREPROS. It stated for $1.95 (membership fee) a "basic membership" I could upload music for my ipod.
I thought it to be reasonable, so I paid the $1.95 to upload music. Once that happened then confusion became part of the membership.
1st, I couldn't load anything, then the web site became a ("Premium") site for all these other uploads for a number of different software companies. The ad now read, a safe place to upload software (not even music)!
Well, I checked my credit card the next day just to find out they had charged my account $44.95 for a membership I didn't want (premium) membership. When you call the number they advertise you get a recording and nobody returns your call.
I e-mailed this company back and told them to cease and desist from charging my account. Well now they sent back an e-mail that stated they will charge me a ($9.99) cancellation fee. They also stated they would take up to two weeks to get the money back to me from what they fraudulently took out of my account.
I have a FBI file number I1304181508254362 for this scam... these folks need to be stopped.

here is their reply... Remember the original order was $1.95... this is no good.

  • This company rips you off by charging "bating you" for $1.95 basic membership then charging you for a premium membership of $44.95. When you cancel your membership because of the fraud and overcharges they charge you $9.99 for cancelling your membership. It's a fraud and con job.
    What I paid for was a $1.95 membership, what I got was a bogas charge and when I cancelled they charged me $9.99, plus my $1.95. Also, they say you get a full refund within 3 days... not so!, I cancelled within 2 days and they committed fraud to my account. The "TRUSTED SYMBOL" is a scam as well. The people will run you around until you get fed up with their cap. I filed a criminal complaint with the FBI... I have proof.
