I was called by this company, "WN Positions", regarding job opportunities. This is the second time I have been called by them (if I knew the date, I would add damages from the seven minutes or so I spent asking the first guy how he got my number--bogus Walmart Gift Card survey--and what exactly he wanted from me).

This time, I was more proactive. I immediately tried to record the call (unfortunately, iPhone cannot record while taking a call; I will look into this further), and made a point of asking the man on the line for his name and contact information.

The man said his name was "Joseph Peters", and simply stopped speaking when I asked to speak with his manager, director, or supervisor. He sat there, not saying anything, until I said very clearly--so the machine recording the call could hear me--the following:

"Whether or not you are still there, if anything is recording this, I want it noted that this is a waste of my time and an invasion of my privacy. I did not fill out any survey, nor did I give anyone at your company permission to contact me. Don't call me again."

Next time (and I'm sure there will be one, because I made the same request last time), I will add a bit about being bareface-lied to.

Upon finishing this, "Joseph Peters" said "Thankyouhaveaniceday" and hung up on me. After sitting there in silence, no doubt waiting for me to pour abuse on him so that he could show his bosses that he stayed calm under pressure, or whatever their standards-people call it.
