As a member of the Board for a non-profit organization in need of an updated website, I created an account with Webs.com, hoping that we could use it as a web hosting site. We are facing a domain that will be expiring in July, so we thought that Webs.com would be a good option, because they advertise that there were accounts where domains could be transferred, registered, and maintained as a single subscription.

On the evening of March 12th, I selected the Premium account, and began a chat with a Webs.com customer service representative, and inquired about how I may carry out the domain transfer. He instructed me that, it would no longer be possible to do so. I was of course upset, and then explained to him, that the non-profit had their existing domain for some time, and that they would be unable to change it at this time. In fact, the services that they were offering were no longer applicable to our needs, so I would have to cancel. The representative instructed me on how to do so, and I followed his advice; but also decided to open a case with PayPal to dispute the charges.

Upon following up numerous times with representatives at Webs.com, there final reply to me was that I had to CLOSE my case with PayPal in order for them to grant me a refund. I found this request to be very suspect, and I shared my concerns with them. Closing a case would make it seem as if the dispute has been settled. So, I did not want to do this. At this point I have opened an additional case with my credit card company, and have not heard back from anyone at Webs.com.

This entire ordeal has been frustrating.
