I to wish I had found these reviews before I made a purchase from Golden. In February this year I turned 59. I always wanted and liked 67 chevelle's. I saw a vehicle on e-bay being sold by Golden classics that looked like my dream car. The description read " Here's a find, a two owner Real 138 SS396.Garaged and well looked after and we were lucky to acquire it. Beautiful Marina Blue with matching interior. Sheet metal is all original, no rust detected anywhere, pinch welds along the edges, Factory straight body with recent base clear coat paint that has a gorgeous show room finish. Quality-Quality-Quality! " I tried bidding on it on eBay, but no success. So I called and spoke to Darwin, who told me it was a great car and would win car shows. We talked some more and settled on a price. I wired them $31079.50 for the car on 2/16/12. The car did not arrive until 3/3/12. I immediately sent an email to Darwin expressing my unhappiness. The following Monday I called him I told him I wanted to return the car and he couldn't understand why. There were several areas where the blue paint was on other areas of the car, it had been taped off and painted, the engine run poorly, I pulled the spark plugs and they were all fouled up, the carb. Was leaking slightly, the master cylinder was leaking; I found several areas where bundo had been used. I found several areas where I could detect rust; everything had been painted to appear in good condition in the photos. The exhaust pipes were painted so looking at the car from underneath there appeared new when the tops of the pipes were not painted. The description and talking to Darwin gave a very misleading true picture of what I was purchasing. Golden said they would take the car back, but I would have to pay for a re-stocking fee of $3000.00 plus 980.00 to ship the car back. So I will lose about $5000.00 and Golden will make $3000.00 for nothing and back another profit when they sell the car again. I guess I'm luckily compared to some others. I will still try to re-coop as much money of the $5000.00 that I can. Don't buy from Golden Classics unless you look at the vehicle yourself. The car was a five owner car, not including myself, and was full of rust.Pat B.
