In 2005, I purchased my home for $150,000 dollars, using Novastar Mortgage as my lender, with no money down and no closing costs which sounded too good to be true, but would not let me purchase "FHA". In 2006, Saxon took over Novastar, and suggested that I refinance my home, and sent their own appraiser out to my house; forcing me to pay for the appraiser, and not allowing me to get my own appraiser. The house appraised at that time for $200k, and I wound up having an additional $30,000 added to my loan.
In 2007, I was severly injured on the job, and out of work for nearly a year, at that time I requested a modification, but when I called Saxon, I never got the same person I was dealing with on the phone, and they lost my paperwork 6 different times. I had been trying to get a modification since then, and have been ripped off by 2 different companies, Nationwide Financial in 2009, who told me to stop making payments, and Starr Law group in 2011 who promised they would not foreclose while the modification process was going on. Saxon refused modification on the 19th of September, 2011 knowing they had already foreclosed on the 17th of August, 2011 and had a sale date for September 23rd, 2011.
I was at the auction on the 23rd, and Bank of New York, Mellon purchased my house back for $116,000 and made it so nobody could bid on it, because they wanted the money as soon as the auction was over, and would not allow someone to go to the bank to get the proper cashiers check for payment. They refused to take any bids on the home unless you showed them cash on the spot.

I had tried for 4 years to get help from my lender, and now I will be out on the street in a couple of weeks.
