September 2012 , I was contacted by a woman saying that I had previously agreed to subscribe to magazines through Sunset Publications. Although she refused to tell me what magazines she was talking about, she said that my 30 day option to cancel had already expired and if I didn't t give her my credit information at that time instead of the $59.95 monthly charge for 30 months that they were going to charge me , that they would be charging me $69.95 a month for 30 months. I protested - to no avail! I felt that I had no choice but to give her my information. She recorded all of my credit information and said that the recording was the same as a contract. She even stopped the recording at one point and had me start over because my voice showed that I was crying and was under great duress. I' ve tried unsuccessfully 3 or 4 times to call them to get out of this mess. Every time I called the message lays said that they were out of the office at this time. I also have never received any paper work about this matter nor have I ever signed any kind of contract. Sunset Publications started charging my Chase Freedom credit card $59.95 a month in October,2012 and continued monthly. In fact, for the month of October there were two charges for that amount. I have been working with Chase Bank and they have taken the charges off my credit card that have occurred so far and they have labelled the charges as fraudulent. Chase also cancelled my credit card and issued me a replacement. I never received any magazines until the week of 2-25-13which was about 3 weeks after I complained to Chase. Most of the magazines I received, I had never even heard of and so I certainly am not interested in receiving them. Friday, March 8,2013, I received a magazine called INC. I called this magazine company to tell them that I was not wanting this magazine and they told me that only Sunset Publications could do that, but hey did connect me to Sunset Publications. The woman I spoke which I believe was the very same one that scammed me back in September, told me that I was obligated to pay for these magazines and if I didn't' pay, she would be turning the account over to the three major credit bureaus. She also said that if I didn't t pay up there would be an additional monthly charge of $25.00.i do not want any of these magazines and want Sunset Publications to disappear from my life and to never, ever contact me again!!!
