Same scam. I saw a backhoe on ebay. never sold. He emailed me after and told me details. Sounded like a great deal. Apparently he had to sell it to pay for some land for his new business. He uses ebay consumer purchase protection program. Sounded legit. There's a website for it. This guy hounded me for 5 days, (emails, text, calls). I wired money to a 3rd party, thought it was ebay. Didn't hear back for 5 hours. So I thought this was fishy. I called ebay and they told me it was a scam. He called me later and said it was legit. Hard to know what to believe. Scam artists are convincing. I called my bank and got the money wire frozen and labeled as scam. Luckily this week I got my money returned. The guy is still posting listings on ebay as [email protected]. Beware. I want to catch this guy in the worst way. I've reported him to ic3 and ebay. Hopefully something will happen.
