Dear Jeff ,

In late June 2012, I ordered a Model # DD93 4.7 L V8 for my Dodge Dakota from you, on the phone. I ordered it with your 3 yr unlimited mile parts and labor warranty. Invoice #65528

The engine S/N #(Personal Information Removed)arrived and was installed by: One Stop Tire and Auto 8023 US HWY 87 N. Victoria, Texas 77904, (361)570-1911. Rodney, owner of One Stop, noticed that the oil pressure was not up to spec. After running the motor, an inspection was made. The photo documented inspection revealed to Rodney that the crank bedplate was leaking oil. We called Gearhead and explained the situation (Claim #269865). It was decided that Gearhead would replace the motor after their own inspection. The motor was re-crated and returned after several weeks of repeated phone calls, because Victor forgot to schedule the freight truck to pick it up. After several weeks and many repeated phone calls, we were told by Victor that the engine was inspected and was found to be without flaw and that Gearhead would not honor the warranty. I was definitely miffed, but continued to call and request a replacement to be sent as I depended on my truck for transportation.

A second motor was sent in September. The second motor S/N#(Personal Information Removed)was installed and it was discovered that there was no compression in the passenger side 4 cylinders. Further inspection revealed that the timing chain had been improperly installed by the factory. Rodney, the mechanic, and I called in a new claim (#276454) and were told simply to fix it and send the bill. The timing chain was re-set and the motor was run for a short period with spec. oil pressure. As the motor ran, inspection revealed that the same crankshaft bedplate as the first motor was profusely leaking oil to the extent that the bottom of the engine and transmission past the bedplate was covered with engine oil. This required that the motor be pulled again and the bedplate properly sealed as the factory should have done originally.

I am submitting receipts for the labor and parts to make this right according to the warranty. Thank you and a timely response will be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Jeff Brink
