While listing an item for sale on craigslist this person e-mailed me about purchasing the item I had listed for a surprise gift for his son. Used the story of being a deployed service member (Navy) and being at sea. Wanted to set up payment via paypal and was going to have a third party (shipper) who would take care of the pickup and transport. I never supplied the individual with any info for payment and decided to look into it thinking it could be a scam first. Sure enough it was listed as a known scam e-mail with other addresses used and other aliases. Supposedly this individual uses the name Jake and is located in CA. Got the information from scamcriminals.blogspot.com, type in the e-mail address and it comes right up with several others having been scammed or attempted by this individual. Some have had experiences via phone and ebay accounts also.
