I had a small balance in my accounbt Gold Checking 027-014-640-6 which I maintained in order to keep my safe deposit box at this bank. I received no statement fromn them about this for three years. When I finally did receive a statement three days ago, I loearnd that they had beenb takingout ten dollarws per month as a service charge. When I complained they (Lindsay Gaddis, Assistant Bank Manager, tole de that the banbk had sent out earlier statements. She further said that they used second class mail and never sent out first class mail ( which is the way other banks have always communicated with me). She also gave two conflicing explanations about the servce charge. One, was that it represented a too small balance ($1377) and secondly it was for inactivity. When I asked what was the minimum balance at which point the charge would begin, she evaded my question. I asked for a printed babnk statement aboyut this, but received none.
