I had given my son permission to access a support service for his Apple laptop at college, because he was nowhere near an Apple store. When he contacted Proservice - which he thought was an "approved" Apple support service (now called My Tech Help) he was told that the service would be $99.99 for 2 years, for which my Visa was charged (in Dec). In reviewing my Visa bill from last month (Jan), I saw that I was charged $99.99 two more times. I then went on-line to view my current Visa statement (for Feb), and saw TWO MORE charges for $99.99 each! In speaking with the company they said 2 accounts had erroneously been set up (though the rep said he's not sure how that happened because they were both tagged to the same phone number), and that the company would reimburse 2 charges totaling $199.98. I was then told that the 2-year subscription was actually for 3 installments $99.99 each ($299.97!). I told them that was not what was told to my son and that I wanted the service cancelled immediately with a full refund. I spoke with a supervisor who refused giving me a refund because the charges had already gone through. I'm now working with the disputes department for my Visa card to get refunded ALL the money they charged. To add insult to injury, my son said back in Dec that they kept him on the phone for almost an hour before he could reach a support person, and that after 15 minutes with them, they couldn't begin to solve his problem. Definitely a disreputable company who relies on duping people and assuming they won't fight back to recoup the charges.
