I noticed charges to my Hudson's Bay Co. account which I had not authorized. Upon further investigation I discovered they were monthly billings for membership to "Lifestyle Essentials". The extremely rude people I spoke to when I called a customer service number for LIFESTYLE ESSENTIALS claimed that I had agreed to a 30 day free trial after which I could cancel at anytime back in July 2008. I did not or never would agree to such an offer and have never used there services but have been billed monthly for almost 3 years (almost 600 dollars!) I am a busy mother of a large family that shops regularly at HBC and unfortunately have never noticed the charges (I assumed it was socks or underwear purchases etc.......my stupidity!!) This is CLEARLY A SCAM against busy people who are not checking their statements carefully.I requested a full refund and was told "someone will get back to me". I'm not holding my breath. I have cancelled membership now that I know about the charges and urge others to CHECK YOUR HBC Credit Card STATEMENTS to make sure your are not being ripped off like I was!!
