Very similar to previous report of phone call a couple of days after I had downloaded an update to Windows 7. This got me to look at a number of warnings and errors detected on my computer. I was under the impression this call came form microsoft. The risks of this were emphasised to me and my obvious first concern was to get it fixed. This also got me into an annual service contract which I am very suspicious of as although I entered my card details my self so that the card company cannot help, other bits such as ticking the box about the agreement and also the confirmation email happened while the technician was sorting the problems and I was confused about what was happeneing and what I was controlling. It was my card company who roused my suspicions when their fraud department rang me to check but they had already passed the transaction. I have asked in a separate email asking for confirmation for them to cancel the contract but I fear I have been scammed.
