I was smart not to sign for a long term account, instead, I chose to buy minutes to call abroad. This worked fine for about 2-3 times but their system no longer works properly. I spent so many days trying to find a solution by following Skype's and other frustrated users suggestions to no avail. The geniuses at Skype are unable to fix their audio system and I got fed up and tried to cancel my service online and Skype sent me straight to their chat and of course there was nobody available so I sent them an e-mail demanding a refund of my unused credit which I"m unable to use for their technical errors. So far we've been going back and forth with e-mails but in the end I will prevail and they will refund my money. My advice to all of you is to keep sending them e-mails, don't ask, demand a refund of your money. Every time Microsoft gets involved there are and will be problems. Skype worked fine while the Europeans were in charge. They already had a class action suit and I believe they are asking for another even though Microsoft claims that no lawsuits are allowed, ha ha ha.

  • I am proud to announce that I prevailed and after several days of e-mails back and forth I reported them to the BBB. Skype responded giving me all kinds of excuses why they were unable to refund my money and once again I told them: You WILL refund my money, the next day they told me that they would refund my money. The BBB asked me if this was acceptable and I said "no" because Skype did not specify the amount of the refund. The following day Skype refunded my $26.00 plus a little extra because, according to them, they could not make partial refunds. My system worked and my advice to all of you is not to waste time on the phone, you will be transferred to India or the Philippines or who knows where and you will not get satisfaction. The best is to send them e-mails and report them to the BBB. Good luck!
