I was involved in superstorm sandy back in October. I am still not in my home till this date because of Ocwen Financial. In November, my flood insurance was nice enough to advance me $50,000 to start repairs on my home because the adjusters deemed my house inhabitable and the entire house needed to be gutted. Ocwen was on the check so we had to send them the check, and they in return release the money to me in order to do repairs on the home. They released only $10,000 to me in November and that money was spent the same week to pay for gut out, clean up of mold, and plumbers to get heat working so pipes wouldnt freeze. till the date of this letter I have still only received $10,000 total funds!! Their inspector came second week in January, and thanks to all my savings, borrowing money, owing contractors, the house was deemed to be 75% complete. No help from mortgage company!! I call them everyday, no compassion at all, they keep saying a check for $16,000 more is coming. That money is spent to pay people I owe! The next inspection is getting done on Feb 15th, and I cant do anymore work, so wont get anymore money!! Ocwen tells me that I wont get the rest of my mney till home is deemed 95%complete!! They are also getting the rest of the flood settlement in the amount of $50,000, so they are going to have $90,000 of my money? Really?? how do I finish my home if I only received $10,000??? And to top it off,I am 2 months late with mortgage and I am getting 5 phonecalls a day, threatening to take further action!! Are they kidding me? they are the reason I am not in my home!! And to top it off, if you google "ocwen complaints" there are way too many to even read!! They should be out of business the way they operate!! And lastly, I am in a hotel till next sunday when the TSA program with FEMA is ending and I will not have anywhere to go with my wife, my 9 year old, my 12 year old, my 83 year old father who has a very bad heart condition, and my dog. Please help me, I have tried everything, they want me to fix home before I get the money I need to fix it? HOW??
