Never met the guy - he said he was from the San Rafael area in Marin County - he went to Scotland, got stabbed by four men - needed medical attention - the first amount sent was $6,000.00 Then he needed surgery, which will cost $15,000.00 Out of the compassion of my heart, I lent him the money. He is now nowhere to be found. I met him through match.com and I only have a phone number. His name may be fictitious and so would his photo be fake - probably using someone elses. His phone number is 415-295-2543. The guy had me send these two amounts to an account of his friend:

I contacted local police but they cannot do anything because I was told a crime was not committed in the US but international scamming.

- Thank you for posting this. I met "Russell" on Match.com also. After a couple of e-mail and texts back and forth I started to get suspicious. I Googled him and found this Scambook post. He said he was from a small town near me so I asked him some specific questions about restaurants and hotels. It was obvious that he didn't know the area at all so I cut off all communication. Thank you again for saving me from being his next victim!

- Suzann I am glad to hear from you. I cannot disclose more than I have put in public due to the confidentiality that needs to be done that involves the police and other agencies at this time. I know that I'll never get the money back. Money at this time is not the issue. I do not want Russell Haseley to do this to other innocent victims who may be financially struggling. THANK YOU for your feedback. I hope I hear from others who he has done this to. Did he use the same phone number as the 415-295-2543 or did he give you a different phone number? Did he provide you also an email address? Are you willing to share this with me? THANKS!

- THANK you once again, Suzann - the more information I have, the better - like I said, the goal is no longer for the money I lost, but more of justice and awareness for other women who may be victims of Russell and his cohorts. I wish others will read scambook if they have been scammed by other men in the past - who knows? it could be the same person using different names. I appreciate your efforts!!!
