In dating ads, has claimed to be Dieter Bergmann, Thomas Dieter, also Dieter Rau, and Dieter Weitz. This loss happened through match.com. Person(s) using this email address claim(s) to be a civil engineer from Vancouver, CA with a 10 year old son at St. Mary's School in Croydon, England. He will claim to be a Christian widower who lost his wife and daughter in a car accident five years ago, or some such story. After a long email/text conversation, during which he may even send you something, like a pizza. He claims to be going to Africa to do road construction, one last job which will make him rich enough to retire to the US, his dream country, or some such story like that. He will also encourage you to write to his son. He will ask you to trust him and back him so he can survive the job, because the country is hot and everyone there is black and corrupt. Once in the country, he calls that the economy there is cash only and he has only credit. Once cash is sent, he falls ill (snake bite, in my case) and the "hospital" calls or sends text messages to extort cash ($1500) to save his life. Unlike most other scams I've read about, he will write you until the day he claims he will pay you back, then he stops. This man will bombard your email box and phone with messages, and will call or write from many numbers, in the US: 646-493-1666. Also (international) 011-233-243-067854 (Ghana code). Once he is well enough, he writes again, and tries to call. If YOU mention the money you loaned him, he will claim all YOU think about is money, and yes, he has the money, but now he may not send it to you as you lied to HIM, and now he is not concerned. email addresses used: [email protected]; [email protected].
