My father ordered a Brooklyn lantern for $12.99 and was supposed to receive a second lantern for free. My fathered received 4 lanterns and received a charge of $124.88 on his credit card. My father is over 80 years old and handicapped. I called the customer service number of "as seen on tv" Brooklyn Lanterns. I was told that my father must have ordered the "Deluxe" version of the lantern and they cost $23.99 EACH! I told the rep that they got the order wrong and my father only wanted the 2 lanterns for $12.99. I was told that they could send me the 2 lanterns that my father wanted and charge him the $12.99 price, but I needed to keep the 4 lanterns my father received and has to pay the $124.88 bill. Now that's Insane! I asked the rep how sending and charging my father for 2 more lanterns helps the problem. I was then told there was nothing they could do for me and my dad has to pay the outrageous price. Almost 10 times the original. How can a company take advantage of our elderly like that and get away with it? This was a complete ripoff.
