Jacob Wirth in Boston requires those that purchase a Groupon to click a link for Open Table and make a reservation. No problem I think. Even though the last Groupon I used to take my Mother out for dinner included an additional fee at the restaurant. I guess my 40% tip wasn't sufficient. I have one more Groupon for a restaurant in Watertown Massachusetts that I will not redeem as the reviews on Yelp state similar issues.
The problem is that my Groupon for Jacob Wirth doesn't expire for 6 months and there are no reservations available for that time period. Groupon refuses to provide a refund unless a company is no longer in business. I have been going to Jacob Wirth since I was a child in the 1970's. At this point, I will never do business with Groupon nor Jacob Wirth. What a scam. Over a lousy $25.00 they have lost thousands in potential business from me and everyone in my network.
