I listed a 2002 Dodge Ram truck on Craig's List. A response came from this Micheal Kelvin from Kentucky. He said he wanted to but the truck through Paypal. My wife had an account with paypal so I said yes. He said he sent 6700.00 to pay pal for the truck plus 1000.00 dollars to cover the transportation of the truck and Western Union dues for the shipper. He finally texted me back and said for the transaction to be complete, would have to send the 900.00 to Auto Shipping co. in Gainesville, Fl. to a Robin Hellman, 210 se 2ave treron, Gainesville, Fl. I refused for a while saying I would not send anyone any money. I started getting Email from paypal with all their standard imformation on them, so I thought they were legitimate, saying the money had been posted in paypal and would not be released to my wife's account until I sent the shipping fee through Western Union. I still refused, and they began to send threats to me over the internet saying if I did not send the money in 24 hours, I would be charged with internet fraud and a warrant would be made for my arrest. Kelvin added to the threats by saying he would take legal action if I did not act in 12 hours. My wife and I were terrified. We felt we were backed into a corner. I am a pastor of a church and I felt I could not afford to be thrown into jail. We finally got the money from the back and send it by Western Union to Robin Hellman. Paypal confirmed the transfer and said the 7700.00 would be in our account in 12 hours, to be patient. That was on January 23,2013. The next day we received an Email saying another hundred dollars would have to be sent to another address for insurance. By now, I realized I was being scammed. My daughter and I called Paypal on the number she used for her portrait business and they said they had no such knowledge of my transactions. I called Western Union, but it was too late. The money had been picked up. I can't believe I am a victim to such wicked behavior. I feel offended and betrayed by humanity. The man is still texting me trying to get more money. He don't know I have found him out. I filed a report with local police department but they said there is nothing to be done to ever get my money back.
Surely our nation has some means to stop these people that are destroying so many lives. I wonder how many people, maybe thousands have fallen for their tricks. I feel so dumb. I trust people and never imagined there was thieves and unfeeling people out there that would do this to innocent people.
