I received a phone call that I was going to be receiving my new pre paid visa card in 7 to 10 days. I had not ordered a visa card nor had anyone in my family. There was a number to call or a website to signin on.
I called to find out what was going on cause I checked the website. The website was full of ways to have your federal checks deposited directly to this card.
So the guy on the other end immediately ask me for my social security number. He said he since I did not have an account number yet (which would arrive on the card in 7 to 10 days) they needed my SSAN. Next I asked the address where the card was sent of sourse again they could not say without an account number. Like an idiot I gave in and gave them my number. Of course they verified the account and said it was successfully cancelled. I asked for a cancellation number and a letter of cancellation. I was told no we don't have that. I asked for the address that the card was being sent to. This is when I got sick. He said he can't give that to me because of privacy issues! I said so... I can give you my SSAN but you can't give me the address that is on an account I did not even open? The phone number for this company is 1-877-425-8004.
