Switchfire has charged us for 7 videos £4 each, which we did not view, nor ask to view. In fact when the requests for these videos were made my husband was at work! They will not refund the charges and neither will my cell phone company.

  • I have also been billed by switchfire for apparently subscribing from the 16th December 2012. Susequently, on contacting them, I received a "goodwill" refund. My problem is not over. There is a data charge incurred with my mobile service provider to the tune of ~$326. I don't know how to tackle this because the "MSP" have emailed a "URL" report of the alleged internet usage.

The big problem though is no doubt Switchfire for providing a subscription without authorizing it. Questions to ask are:
Who provided your number to them? And ask them to send you a proof that you actually subscribed with all the info such as time, date, IP address, phone type etc.And yes, ask your MSP to provide you with sms details for that time. If you did subscrfibe, an sms should be recorded as sent to Switchfire.

Visit an association formed in South Africa on the website waspa.org.za and you shall find that there is a wealth of info that you can get from it.
